Course Description:
This course aims to help academics at any career stage to refine, define and align their working lives, get organized and on track with projects, learn best practices for working in the academy, and be more effective and productive while maintaining work/life balance. Completely private and confidential, the course gives professors a space to think about their academic practice and careers with a trusted, experienced instructor and coach.

Week 3: Defining Your Work: Roles, Responsibilities, Focus Areas
Week 4: Academic Projects and Next Actions
Week 5: Know Thyself: Assessment of one-time and ongoing activities and tasks
One on One Coaching scheduled individually (optional)
Week 6: Working with Lists and Checklists
Week 7: Prioritizing activities and scheduling
Week 8: Goals and Career Itineraries
Week 9: Eisenhower Matrix and Streamlining Work
Week 10: Email Management and Communication Strategies
Week 11: Syllabus Design, Creating a Research Program
Week 12: Putting it all together: Best practices, work/life balance, unanswered questions and next steps
Each week includes an online video of content related to the week’s theme, reading lists and other sources, exercises and homework to be completed and submitted during the week. Get feedback on your weekly work, with one free private one-on-one online coaching session half-way through the course with the instructor.
